Statement of Faith

As adapted from the Wesleyan Church’s Statement of Beliefs:

I believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all who put their faith in him alone for eternal life.

I believe that those who are made new in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit.

I believe in the Bible and its sufficiency to establish our faith and conduct.

I believe God wills for people everywhere to know him and be made new in Christ.

I believe that the purpose of the Church is to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to reach a lost and fallen world with the gospel of Jesus Christ through its worship, witness and loving deeds.

Mission Statement

Inspired by Isaiah 30:15: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not.

This ministry has a three-fold purpose to encourage fellow Christians to:

  1. Return to Christ repeatedly throughout their day with meditation
  2. Rest in the Lord with a slower, deeper spiritual life that flows into a lifestyle
  3. Take confident ownership of their spiritual journey by personally relying on the Holy Spirit to direct them to walk in their spiritual gifts and in their true purpose as defined by the Lord.

Vision: We must be turning our thoughts continually to the Lord throughout our day (returning), staying focused on those thoughts for a time to allow Him to work in us (resting), and quietly being mindful of His presence (quiet). By posturing ourselves in this way, we can be transformed (through salvation) and empowered to do the work of the Lord (strength).

About Amanda Hartrich

I live in Western New York with my husband and our children. We have two young adult sons (one is already living on his own, the other is in college), and two younger daughters (one in high school and one still homeschooled). I’ve been a writer and teacher in some form my whole life, usually within the church in or in the fiber arts community. But now the Lord has called me to focus on writing for Him, and I’m honored to do so.
