What’s on your mind these days? This week, we’ll be meditating on the mindset of the Spirit!
Our Verse of the Week
Now the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace.Romans 8:6
I’ve caught myself worrying about something lately, so I chose this verse to help remind me where worrying leads. When my mind is on worldly things, governed by flesh, I won’t find life and peace.
Instead, I need to realign my mindset with that of the Spirit. His thoughts will bring the refreshing life and peace I need!
What about you? If you’ve accepted Christ as your savior and are filled with the Spirit, you’re promised life and peace. But from time to time, you may need a reminder.
Below is a look at my dialogue with the Holy Spirit while meditating on this passage. I meditate on the same verse every day for at least a week, and this is just a model to get you started. Meditating on scripture is a very personal journey and relationship with God, but you may find my Meditation Guide helpful. Now the mindset of the flesh is death: What is my mindset right now? Spirit, thank you for filling me with your power so that I don’t have to live by the flesh anymore, but I know my mind can wander sometimes. Search me and make me aware of the things my mind is focused on. Help bring me back to your mind.
but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace: What a beautiful promise Lord! Thank you for sending the Spirit so that we may have life and peace. Teach me, Lord, to continue leaning on this promise. Strengthen my mindset on things of your Kingdom, and not on this world.
