Our Verse of the Week
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.Song of Songs 2:12
I am revelling in the beauty and promises of spring. The verse just before this one says, “For now the winter is past; the rain has ended and gone away.” Solomon recognizes the difficulty behind him and turns to the hope and life before him. However, he begins this section with “for now.” For now winter is past; just as the cold will come again, difficulty and struggles are sure to eventually return.
But today, I am going to see the flowers, choose to sing, and listen for the cooing of the doves in our land. And know, no matter what, that the Lord is with me and so very good.
I pray you are in a season to join me in celebrating, but if not, I pray that you’re encouraged that the storms will eventually pass, and the Lord is beside you through it all.

Flowers appear on the earth: Lord, what miracles the flowers are. Thank you for creating them with joy and beauty. I’m humbled to behold the infinite creativity of my creator, and the continual promise of life.
the season of singing has come: Father, I sing your praises! You are my life song, and it pours out of me in so many ways. Thank you for your love, for your faithfulness, and for your care.
the cooing of doves is heard in our land: Spirit, you attune my ears to the songs of creation. Continue to open my eyes, ears, and heart to the world shouting praises to the Father. I want to be a part of that sweet song.
