A Meditation on God’s Majestic Voice

The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders above the mighty sea. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. Psalm 29:3-4

When is the last time you stood in awe of the Lord? When you tried to comprehend the majesty of the Lord Almighty and all His wonders? This week, we’re going to hear and see how nature represents His majesty and His glory.

Suggested Meditation

Here’s a  look at my dialogue with the Holy Spirit while meditating on this passage. This is just a model to get you started. Meditating on scripture is a very personal journey and relationship with God, but you may find my Meditation Guide helpful. Follow His prompting.

The voice of the Lord — The Lord speaks to us, declaring His majesty and rightful place in the world. Quiet reflection.

echoes above the sea. — His voice reverberates endlessly over the vast space over the waters. Nothing can stop it, nothing is in its way. His voice is so mighty that it requires time and space. Quiet reflection.

The God of glory thunders. — Worthy of our praise, mighty and honorable, our God thunders His presence, His power, His absolute authority. Quiet reflection.

The Lord thunders above the mighty sea. — I reflect on the power of a thunderstorm. I reflect on the power of the sea. I’m quiet as I think about my God being mightier than a storm at sea.

The voice of the Lord is powerful; — I am quiet and humble as I’m in awe of the power of the Lord’s voice. I reflect on that powerful voice loving me enough to talk with me. Who am I to turn away? Who am I to question such power?

the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. — The One who was and is and is to come requires all praise, worship, and honor. You have my all, Lord. You are Lord of the earth; King of all creation, and I humbly submit to your authority.
